Public relations is the practice of staying connected with customers and prospects.
In the age of social networking, the concept of staying connected seems simple. On a personal level it can be, but on a business level, it is not. Valued content, from your customer or prospects perspective, is difficult to come by. Your audience expects a benefit for their time. Can you deliver that? Can you devote five hours a week to the process? If you can’t, you need help in managing your image.
What does public relations look like for a local business? It means being involved in the community, serving others or donations of a product that can bring recognition.
For a business that operates globally, nationally, or regionally, the process needs the help of a professional that develops a strategic plan. It’s why I exist, and I’m asking for your trust and business.
Public relations, for the larger company, means press coverage, print and web. It may mean giving a talk/lecture at a trade show or industry conference. A video on youtube that can be searched using keywords. Or blog about your progress on an important job, or post it on twitter.
I believe in a consistent media presence using product or service releases. Content must be beneficial to your prospect for it to build preference for your company, and its’ products and services.
Here’s my “breaking the ice” offer; I will write a product press releases (product or service), shoot a table top photograph (with product shipped to and from my location, if you’re a service organization, I will purchase a stock photograph), send it to nine internet outlets for $600.00. If you want me to build a complete list of media outlets for your business, the cost is $50.00 an hour.
If you have quality photo you can email me, the press release cost is $475.00. These prices are for phone or e-mail contact and approval.
Another easy way to get started is by looking at my price list page. For a reasonable monthly retainer, I start to go to work for you by doing one Public Relations Release a month (these become the basis to build your web presence) and managing your free listings in the Business/Industrial Web Directories. While that is being implemented, we plan your marketing communications future. Costs and budgets get put in place to accomplish the short and long term goals.

Here is a great example of a national company promoting itself locally. The company is ABC Computers located in Waupaca, WI. ABC Computers owner drives an attractive child carrier and creatively identified itself with the flags for the local 4th of July celebration. Children in the colorful barrels throw out candy to other children along the parade route. The benefit? ABC is seen as a good corporate citizen, a valued employer and a resource for its products and services.
